Today on the Cycling Time Trial Podcast, from Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire UK we welcome back Michael Broadwith. On June 16th, Michael broke the Land’s End to John ‘O Groat’s cycling record in a time of 43 hours 25 minutes and 13 seconds. This bettered the “unbeatable” record by around 39 minutes. While that sounds pretty comfortable, the numbers really don’t tell the story. Welcome back Michael Broadwith! It was a pleasure to have Helen Simpson joining us as well.
You can follow Michael on twitter at @24hourmaths and you can review the twitter feed of the event at @Endtoend2018. Thanks again for joining us!

In July 2017, a group of American cyclists made a trip to Aguascalientes, Mexico to set a whole bunch of US and World records. In all, 7 athletes took down 15 US and 7 World Records. I have a feeling today’s guest was the organizational conduit that made the trip happen. We welcome back, Rob Van Houweling and we are glad also to welcome Kevin Metcalfe.

We interviewed James back in 08/2016 (episode 82) as one of “Cycling Makers”, or in other words, independent, “smart people” who have combined their engineering/technology interests with their hobby of cycling. James is in the process of creating a device that will offer the home user the chance to do their own “on the bike” aero testing more efficiently . You can get full picture of what James is trying to accomplish at the new website, redisfaster.co.uk.
